Ripley's No. 10 Cake or Fruit basket

Description	:	Ripley's No. 10 Cake or Fruit basket Gailcat. Ripley held several patents for baskets and fruitbowls and associated hardware. This hardware shows up on Dakota baskets and their No. 20 basket. The Era shapes shown on the three pages of Kamm 8 are all square and further the base and standard of the Era comport shown on page 125 is completely different than this piece. A Ripley catalog cut is shown on page 433 of Welker's Pressed Glass in America. The discussion is included because the pattern resembles Era by Bryce Higbee and Co circa 1891. Donated by Gailcat.
