US Glass #15145, aka Colonis covered butter dish, circa 1913

It is about 5 1/4 inches tall and the top is 5 1/4 across and the base is 7 3/8 across. There are 8 panels on the top and 10 on the bottom. They are original to each other. The glass is very thick and has lots of bubbles, especially in the base, but the glass does not glow under black light. There are two mold lines, starting at the edge of the octagon and running through the finial but not on the rest of the top. It is well fire polished. The base has a mold line that funs along the outside edge of the scallops. It too has been polished, but not as well as the top. I am not sure if the bottom has been ground or not, but my guess is that it has. There are also a large number of straw marks on the base. The top is a perfect fit for the bottom and the color of both pieces are the same. Since this seems to have some age to it and the glass does not glow, I always think Indiana since I have yet to find a piece of Indiana glass that glows under black light no matter how old it is.
